What Clients Say
They built our terrace, our walls, and our garden — and they've been quietly maintaining all of it for six years. We never think about it. That's the whole point.

About Us

The trusted landscape partner for the finest properties.

Blue Claw Associates is a team of skilled trades — masons, landscape carpenters, plant specialists, and drainage experts — with decades of collective experience.

We measure bluestone joints to the eighth, design every patio with meticulous drainage, and monitor plant performance year after year. The unseen details — the ones that never make it into a contract — are the ones we execute flawlessly.

Architects and landscape designers rely on us because we interpret every drawing, source every material, and deliver a seamless finish without being asked twice. Homeowners stay with us because the same foreman remains on their property for years — and the work continues to mature exactly as envisioned.

Our maintenance division is 100% electric, eco-friendly, and whisper-quiet — keeping your property pristine without noise or emissions.

Ian McCarthy

President & CEO

Ian has worked in the landscape industry since 1996. Over two-plus decades he has overseen projects on Nantucket, Cape Cod, and across Metro Boston. Before founding Blue Claw, he spent three years at the design-build firm ZEN Associates Inc. (Woburn, MA, 2008–2010) and joined the construction management team at Maffei Landscape Contractors (Mashpee, MA, 2016–2017).

Ian earned a degree in Business Accounting from Champlain College (Burlington, VT, 1993). He was featured on the cover of Lawn & Landscape in 2002 and profiled again in the 2021 article "Building Better Connections." Born between Chevy Chase, Maryland and Nantucket Island, he lived year-round on Nantucket for a decade and now lives in Sandwich with his family.

Andre Levingston, Business Developer at Blue Claw Associates

Andre Levingston

Business Developer

Andre's career has been built on bringing the right people together — from co-founding the National Basketball League of Canada, the first professional basketball league in Canadian history, to building and scaling businesses across the United States, Canada, and Greece. His background is in growth, relationships, and execution at a high level.

Andre and Ian have known each other since 2006 — they built something historic together once, and in 2026 they're doing it again. The firm Ian has built is a rare one-stop outdoor partner: landscape construction, plus Blue Water Pools & Spas (added 2021) and the legendary 50-year-old Boston Tennis & Sports Court (acquired 2023) — landscape, pool, and sport court under one roof, with ongoing maintenance after every install.

Andre approaches Business Development the way he approached professional sports: build the relationships, earn the trust, let the work speak. He's reaching out to the top architects, custom home builders, and designers in the region with a simple message — one relationship, one standard, exceptional results from groundbreaking to years beyond.
