Why Blue Claw in Cotuit

A local crew, a long-view standard.

Cotuit is one of our most-served Cape villages — the proximity to Osterville means crews can be on a Cotuit property within fifteen minutes, and we maintain a meaningful number of weekly properties along Cotuit Bay and the Little River. Most projects here split between waterfront new-build hardscape and village-proper stone-wall restoration.

Cotuit reads small but the design standard is high. The properties along Main Street and School Street get judged by neighbors who have lived in the village for decades. We design and build accordingly — restrained palettes, locally appropriate stone, careful drainage, plantings that look right in three seasons not just one.

Common Cotuit projects: bluestone terraces on Cotuit Bay properties; fieldstone wall restoration in the village; cobblestone driveway aprons; pool surrounds in thermal bluestone; and weekly maintenance programs that include lawn, horticultural care, irrigation, and seasonal cleanups.

On a Cotuit Bay property we set a 40-foot bluestone seawall cap that follows the natural curve of the shoreline — not a single straight line on the wall — so the cap reads as part of the geology, not as a man-made fix. The mason who set the cap drew the curve in chalk on the stone before he ever cut a piece.
