Why Blue Claw in Osterville

Osterville is our home village. Our office sits on Falmouth Road, our crews stage out of nearby yards, and a meaningful percentage of the properties we maintain week-to-week are inside the 02655 ZIP. We know which streets see harbor wind, which lots drain, and which historic stone walls still need their original lime-mortar joints honored when we tie new work in.

Wianno's coastal estates set the tone for what Osterville landscape construction has to be: durable in salt air, restrained in line, and built by people who understand the difference between a generic granite stair and a true Cape Cod cobblestone apron. The properties along Sea View Avenue, Eel River, and the Oyster Harbors causeway demand bluestone joints to the eighth and drainage that survives a Nor'easter. Inside the village proper — School Street, Main Street, Tower Hill — we work on smaller in-town lots where the craft has to read at five feet, not five hundred.

Most of our Osterville projects fall into one of three buckets: shingle-style waterfront builds with infinity-edge pools and integrated bluestone terraces; older village homes where we restore stonework and rebuild driveway aprons in cobblestone; and Wianno-area estates on long-term weekly maintenance — typically lawn, horticultural care, irrigation oversight, seasonal cleanups, and pruning calibrated to each plant species. We've also installed a number of outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and stone fireplaces along the Wianno bluff.

When a project on the Wianno waterfront calls for a fieldstone retaining wall above the dune line, we hand-set every stone the same way the original 1920s walls were built — with the largest face exposed, batter into the slope, and a frost-protected gravel base. The wall reads as if it grew there, not as if it were trucked in last Tuesday.
