The project

What we built on Cape Cod.

This property needed the landscape to work as one system from the front door to the road. We built curved, stone-faced raised planting beds that wrap the front of the house, with granite steps bringing the entry down to a broad, gently graded lawn.

Along the edges of the lawn, new mulched beds of shrubs and coastal plantings soften the transition to the natural vegetation and the road, and the existing ledge outcrops were kept as part of the design rather than removed.
